David Kash, co-star of “Aliens” on Family Feud Canada with Gerry Dee

On Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, to Thursday, November 24th, of 2022, “Family Feud Canada” with Gerry Dee was on the CBS channel, every night from 7:30 pm to 8 pm. In the last three episodes in just three days, surprisingly, they had this family. In which the father is an actor, and so is his wife.

David Kash. Canadian actor and director. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on April 25th, 1959. At 63 years old when and his family were on that game tv show. He mentioned to Gerry Dee that he was this. And we’re looking at 1986, when he was famous thanks to science fiction filmmaker James Cameron.

David Kash was Crew Chief Pvt. Spunkmeyer in “Aliens”. A drop-ship co-pilot for the United States Colonial Marines. His character was the navigator while his friend was flying the dropship. All the way to the terraforming colony, where it was overrun by the Xenomorph infestation.

He was killed off screen when one of them crept on board the drop-ship, as it killed him first, and then his friend, Colette Hiller as pilot Cpl. Ferro second. While flying the drop-ship to pick up the last colonial marines left, after the hive attack. Before it crashed into the power plant cooling system. Causing the plant to overheat and explode, hours later.

He also appeared as John Lake in the 2014 remake of “RoboCop”, the Russian spymaster in “XXX: Return of Xander Cage”, Rogers in “The Tuxedo” with Jackie Chan, and Karl Knave in one episode of “Goosebumps”. Didn’t appear much in media, but I felt very sorry on what happened to his pals Tip Tipping, Trevor Steedman, Bill Paxton and Al Matthews. Tip Tipping who was Pvt. Crowe in “Aliens” first of all, was 34 years old when he was killed in a parachuting accident on February 5th, 1993 in England. In Bill Paxton’s, Trevor Steedman’s, and Al Matthew’s cases later on in the late 2010’s, were dealing their own health issues.

Trevor Steedman, who was Pvt. Wierzbowski, was 62 years old when he passed away due to a stroke on June 25th, 2016. Then came Bill Paxton, who was Pvt. Hudson. For he was 61 years old when he passed away due to complications of heart surgery. On February 25th, 2017. And Al Matthews who was Sgt. Apone, was 75 years old when he passed away on September 22nd, 2018. He was battling a severe illness until he had to give it up. Jennifer Anniston was very emotional on what happened to Bill Paxton during the 89th Academy Awards ceremony.

As of early 2023, all what’s left of the cast of the colonial marines + heroes are him (Spunkmeyer), Sigourney Weaver (Lt. Ripley), Michael Biehn (Cpl. Dwayne Hicks), Jeanette Goldstein (Pvt. Vasquez), William Hope (Lt. Gorman), Rico Ross (Pvt. Frost), Mark Rolston (Pvt. Drake), Colette Hiller (pilot Cpl. Ferro), Cynthia Dale Scott (Cpl. Dietrich), and Lance Henriksen (Bishop).

David Kash and his family only won $3,000 on Family Feud Canada. Didn’t had the chance to win $10,000. His sister however too, turns out to be an actress as well as him. Didn’t appear much in the media. Only appeared as Mrs. Rooney in “Are We Done Yet?“ in 2007, Gwen in one 1993 episode of “Seinfeld”.

Fortunately, she did voiced in a few kids animated cartoons. Such as Grace in 8 episodes of “Timothy Goes To School”, and Clarabel in that 2020 reboot of “Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go!”. Catherine Disher voiced Annie as they were partners in crime in the animation business on this “Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go!”.

Not enough merchandise on those two once great Canadian stars unfortunately. In Linda Kash’s case, just a few plush dolls, toy trains and DVDs from “Timothy Goes To School” and “Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go!”.

What about her brother David Kash? A few figures mostly for his role as Crew Chief Pvt. Spunkmeyer in “Aliens”, including a Minimate figure. Not to mention that movie on DVD. But hey! They also did a few more minifigures including some Minimates figures for the rest of the cast who were the colonial marines. An APC too. No Lego sets, but only one Mega Bloks colonial marine. And it ain’t his character.

They didn’t do a Minimate figure of Cpl. Ferro unfortunately. But hopefully if the Minimates company can make one more of Colette Hiller as drop-ship pilot Cpl. Ferro, eventually, then collectors will collect them all. Depending on how goes for the company.

In conclusion, I don’t like Family Feud Canada with Gerry Dee, because of those ridiculous answers and questions. But I’m glad that Spunkmeyer is still alive. And so are his cast member friends who are the last of the colonial marines.

In Steve Harvey’s case on the American version of Family Feud, didn’t know about this. But he did had Kimberly Williams Paisley. On the celebrity edition.

Fio Piccolo herself from “Porco Rosso”. Partnered with Michael Keaton & Cary Elwes in Hayao Miyazaki’s anime masterpiece.

And guess who else was on “Celebrity Family Feud”? The stars of “Jackass: Forever”! Taser guns included!

Pirouz, a rare Asian cheetah in Iran (2022-2023)

Iran. One of the poorest countries in the Middle East. Things weren’t the same since it faced many wars including the war in Afghanistan. Until at last, it ended in 2021 for almost 20 long years. Now today, as the future is on ascending, the world must now focus on saving endangered species and stop global warming before it’s too late.

A few weeks after the Turkey-Syria earthquake, news had spread from Iran that only nine male cheetahs and three female cheetahs are left alive. Mostly Asian type. This was reported, shortly after this passed away too soon. As dead as Neil Armstrong’s 2 year old baby daughter Karen.

Born on May 1st, 2022, this Iranian cheetah 🐆 named Pirouz, was rescued along with his family. The other cubs didn’t make it cause there was no milk for them. All were forced to live separately and without maternal care. That included his mom and dad. Fortunately he survived and remained in Tehran. But was 10 months old when he passed away due to a kidney failure on February 28th, 2023.

But as you can see, this is what I’m talking about. Cheetahs, polar bears, killer whales, Tasmanian devils, Iberian lynxes, Siberian tigers, Iriomote cats, giant Pandas, and more are becoming endangered species. Everyone is not doing the right thing right now. All need to be saved before it’s completely too late. And the environment in Iran can be terrible when it’s all dirty and filthy. Animal lovers such as Al Gore and the Irwin’s will need to know about this. So as we need to save these endangered species before it’s too late, it’s time to do the three words. What are we gonna do? CHANGE THE WORLD!

Don’t delay! Time to save endangered species such as cheetahs today! Hurry right away! And make sure none don’t get kidney failures like what happened to this one.

All The President’s Men (1976)

Crime can be super duper serious. No matter where you are, or whatever you do. And it’s best not to get involved. Like a pickpocket in Spain who could steal your gold watch or wallet. At a train station or flea market. Right out of your pockets or off your wrist. Or some Amazon or EBay seller ripping you off that after u pay them, they just take off with your money, and not send u the item. That includes how they can give u a false address and wrong number. Or where they are located. It happens a lot on those two, Canada’s selling website Kijiji, and phone calls when they just do those stupid advertisement calls and text messages. Cyber bullying.

Which is why this explains everything, crime related, as long as this mystery is solved. And getting the bad guy behind bars. June 17th, 1972. The Watergate complex scandal. Five men were arrested that night. Two reporters from The Washington Post were on this case. Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward. By going after people who were working for President Richard Nixon, as well as how they knew about the scandal, they didn’t stop until the entire mystery was solved in the very end. And in the aftermath, while all five men pleaded guilty, Richard Nixon resigned. He too was involved in the Watergate scandal.

Which was why British journalist David Frost got to interview him in 1977. And then many years later, Ron Howard did that Oscar nominated movie we know of in late 2008. What about the two reporters from The Washington Post? They wrote a book about what they did, and then was made into a 1976 motion picture. Long before “Frost/Nixon”. Starring Robert Redford as Bob Woodward, and Dustin Hoffman as Carl Bernstein. Joining them are Hal Holbrook, Warren Beatty, F. Murray Abraham, and Martin Balsam.

To wrap this up, as I give this a ‘B+’, and recommend this for ADULTS ONLY, three things.

  • In one of the early episodes in season 1 of “Pawn Stars: Do America”, a book copy of the same title by those two reporters, was pawned to the three guys from Las Vegas, Nevada. Therefore, it did.
  • This won four Oscar awards. Best Sound, Best Art Direction, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Best Adapted Screenplay. It was close to winning to Best Picture, Best Director, & Best Film Editing, but lost when “Rocky” with Sylvester Stallone won them. At the 49th Academy Awards ceremony on March 28th, 1977.
  • Shortly before OR after reviewing “Rocky” with Sylvester Stallone, Chicago Sun-Times film critic, and Pulitzer Prize winner Roger Ebert, awarded this 3 and 1/2 out of 4 stars, writing: “It provides the most observant study of working journalists we’re ever likely to see in a feature film. And it succeeds brilliantly in suggesting the mixture of exhilaration, paranoia, self-doubt, and courage that permeated The Washington Post as its two young reporters went after a presidency”. His film critic pal from the Chicago Tribune, Gene Siskel named this the best film of 1976 on his year-end list. I guarantee that this is, the biggest detective story to be ever told. And have it made into a motion picture.

Emancipation (2022)

From the director who did the 2016 remake of “The Magnificent Seven”, comes this true story for what happened during the American Civil War. Only on Apple TV. Shot in black and white, with a teeny bit of colour. Like how Steven Spielberg did on “Schindler’s List”.

Will Smith and Steven Ogg are the only stars I know of in this. Since January 1st, 1863, 350,000 African Americans were slaves down on those Louisiana plantations. The rest of the states, all we’re free except for Louisiana. Under the cruelty of the Confederate army, there were two options. Either wait until the Union army will come, or take freedom for themselves.

An escaped slave, nearly beaten to death on a Louisiana danger zone, while building a narrow gauge railway, heads up north to head for the Union Army. Destination: Baton Rouge. Just as long as he outwits those cold blooded hunters who went after him. It’s a long perilous journey since animator/director Don Bluth did “The Land Before Time”.

I don’t like a little girl with baby teeth, ringing a bell while yelling ‘Runner!’, and Ben Foster, who was Warren Worthington III/Angel in “X-Men: The Last Stand”, as one of them cold blooded hunters. But you could say that both Floyd Lawton/Deadshot from “Suicide Squad”, and the Union Army got the best out of them. And should’ve won both a Golden Globe Award and Oscar award for this, instead of “King Richard”.

What’s magnificent about this story is that after our hero makes it to the Union Army and enlists, he becomes a sergeant. And leads a regiment to the Siege of Port Hudson in the summer days 1863. Until union victory for them. And gets to free his family.

So for a success, 8.8 out of 10 stars is what I give. Less violence and blood. Unlike “Django Unchained”, directed by Quentin Tarantino. And both less visual effects and offensive language.

Tune in next time this March for two reviews. One about a long lost star that once worked for James Cameron. The other about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards. It really happened on March 27th, 2022

The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys (TV show narrated by Bill Nighy)

British actor Bill Nighy, star of “Love Actually”, “Pokémon: Detective Pikachu”, “Arthur Christmas”, “I, Frankenstein”, “Flushed Away”, “Valkyrie”, & “Wrath of the Titans” narrated this new documentary tv show. But he doesn’t join the train journey like how Teddy Wilson would do in “Mighty Trains”.

When we look at all the railways across the planet, they can be iconic. No matter if they use diesel engines or steam train engines. Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper from “The Big Bang Theory” TV show would go nuts if he ever saw some of these. In England, Wales, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Spain, Canada, Norway, Switzerland, Scotland, Alaska, Africa, France, Mexico, Finland, Bavaria, Taiwan, Austria, Australia, Sweden, Portugal and America, each episode tells about how each railway would do it. What is their history behind it, and how they handle nature while each train goes on its journey. Unfortunately, other railways from different countries such as Japan, Germany, Romania, Russia and etc, not included.

They showed this tv show on Canadian tv channel TVO. The same tv channel where it had these cartoon tv shows for kids that I used to watch. Such as “Elliot Moose”, “Country Mouse & City Mouse”, “George Shrinks”, “Little Bear”, “Pingu”, “Popular Mechanics for Kids”, “Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat”, “Shining Time Station”, “Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends”, “Wishbone”, “The Toy Castle”, & “Timothy Goes To School”. Most in which were transferred to or from PBS Kids, as well as Canadian kids tv channel YTV.

Bill Nighy did an excellent job narrating these episodes. 45 minutes to an hour long. In each episode throughout 6 seasons. So a ‘B+’ is what I give.

Roger McGuinn- Auld Lang Syne V3

https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Roger_McGuinn/Folk_Den_Project/20090517154733372

No other version is better than this one. American musician Roger McGuinn does the very best version of this classic New Years Eve song. No matter what. This song may sound like if this is from Ireland, but I still adore it. Does anyone else adore this version?

Until then, Happy New Year from osmovies!!

Arctic Vets (veterinarian tv show on Canadian tv channel CBC)

Located north of Manitoba, Canada, close to the Arctic, they help out polar bears, Arctic foxes, Arctic wolves, lynxes, snow leopards, otters, bisons, sea lions, Siberian tigers, big horn sheep, reindeer, owls, and more! For they are Arctic vets. By helping out animals in distress, they also tell us in which some species are endangered. And how they need to be saved.

Shown only on Canadian tv channel CBC, this ran for two seasons. 10 episodes each. Weekends or weekdays at around 3 or 4 pm. Both me and my parents found this fascinating. Mostly in the wintertime, let’s say before or after Christmas. We had never missed an episode at all.

Despite that Churchill, Manitoba can have polar bears on the outskirts, it’s best not to hunt and kill them at all. EVER. They don’t want anything to go wrong for these endangered species. Some of these vets in which, go all the way from Alaska. And help out other species.

No matter which species are endangered, all need to be saved before it’s too late. And they don’t need Doctor John Dolittle, when they can actually do it. Just like the Irwins in Australia. So for a success, a straight ‘A’ is what i give.

Paul McCartney- Wonderful Christmastime

Since the Beatles went in their separate ways, I always knew that they would do great things on their own. Such as Ringo Starr as the first narrator in “Thomas the Tank Engine” tv show; as well as portraying the tiny conductor man in “Shining Time Station”. He did a terrific job.

John Lennon on the other hand, became a peace activist as he and some African kids did “Happy X-mas (War Is Over)” in the early 1970’s. A new Christmas song. They did it for the people of Africa, as his Japanese-American wife Yoko Ono joined along too. (When last heard of her, she was in “Isle of Dogs”, directed by Wes Anderson).

George Harrison thirdly, was still a musician and lived until he was 58 years old, until his death in 2001 due to lung cancer. Although he still did “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” & “Here Comes The Sun” that he wrote for the band.

Paul McCartney lastly, wanted to get into the motion picture & television business. No matter if he and his wife Linda were acting or doing music. Together, they were Oscar nominated for Best Original Song once on “Live & Let Die”; used in the James Bond movie of the same name with Roger Moore. (Not my cup of coffee though).

However, this has to be it. On what made him famous. And it’s best to listen this at Christmastime. When last seen or heard of this in the media, this was featured in “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer: The Movie” in 1998. And, Paul McCartney himself sang this on a NY stage, at the end of a Christmas Saturday Night Live episode. In which he and Martin Short were practising for a holiday pageant. But let me tell u about that SNL skit that they did. Martin Short will make u laugh and cry at the same time while doing ‘Holiday Cheer’. Just before Paul McCartney does his favourite Christmas song.

Tune in next time for two more blog posts at the end of this month. One which is what happened recently on “Family Feud Canada” with Gerry Dee. And the other is my favourite version of a New Years Eve song by Roger McGuinn.

Until then, Merry Christmas from osmovies!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Top 10 Saturday Night Live Christmas Skits

I don’t watch Saturday Night Live very much, as most of their skits aren’t that funny. Fortunately, there are some that do make me entertained. In this top 10 list, we’re looking at the top 10 SNL Christmas skits. Hanukkah is included too. That they had ever did.

Note: I tried looking for the Mark Jensen Family Christmas skit with Will Ferrell, but the internet and copyright law wouldn’t let people post it online. So I’m sorry to say, that this is not included on this top 10 list.

10. The Narrator That Ruined Christmas. Kicking off the start on the list, here’s where Sam the Snowman from “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” can’t take it anymore as narrator. In this Saturday TV Funhouse skit, when he heard about the 9/11 attack, Sam, Rudolph, two kids and Hermey head to Manhattan to support the people. By donating blood. When Kris Kringle finds out about this, he follows them. In fact, Jerry Stiller makes a cameo appearance while he doesn’t speak. And let me tell ya. Sam is funny when he’s fed up.

9. The Grinch. He’s green, fuzzy, and cuddly as a cactus. But has already have a change of heart. In this Dr. Seuss skit, Pete Davidson is Mr. Grinch. In which after returning everything, the Who’s down in Who-Ville asked him to stay a while longer. So while staying at a house, the kids find something suspicious about Mr. Grinch. And why he and his parents were making so much noise last night. By the looks of the makeup and costume that Pete Davidson wore, he deserves to make fun out of Dr. Seuss’s famous Christmas story.

8. Mister Robinson’s Neighbourhood At Christmastime. IYF Mr. Fred Rogers! Eddie Murphy had never been so funny when he’s Mr. Robinson in the 1980’s. By appearing 9-10 times on the show, this was his last appearance before Mr. Robinson’s return in the late 2010’s. This was the best of all of the Mr. Robinson’s Neighbourhood skits as he teaches kids that Christmas is the season of giving. By ending this, he hilariously turned regular dolls into cabbage patch dolls and sells them to suckers who love the Cabbage Patch Kids.

7. Trimming the Tree. It’s IYF John ‘Lardass’ Lasseter! This is really the funniest than some lousy toy story. And it’s sequels too. Lucy Liu, Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Rachel Dratch, Chris Kattan, and a cast of others as Christmas ornaments wish to get on a Christmas tree before some of them can be thrown away. One by one. Or worse. Be a chew toy for a Golden Retriever doggy. Their humour against each other, has never been so hilarious as ever. No matter if they’re homemade or already crafted. And the angel did get a friend on top.

6. Christmas Ornaments. While gently using ornaments, it’s best to choose which can be up front. And which can go in the back of the Christmas tree. Matt Damon, Kenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon and a cast of others are used up ornaments as they wind up in the back area. And why they were put there. Despite facing the wall, they have a friendly but hilarious ‘Breakfast Club’ group therapy while Harry Potter doing something nasty since his broom broke. Two more however, a bell and angel, feel like if they want a death wish.

5. North Pole News Report. This is where polar bears take their roaring rampage of revenge on the elves at the North Pole. Because of global warming. In this emergency broadcast skit, Eddie Murphy as an toy making elf interrupts everything. Especially when he’s right next to a TV reporter. Telling everyone more detail about what happened. Just before a polar bear comes right at the end and takes the anchorman away. The highlight of this, how Eddie Murphy gives proof of evidence and warns everyone about rampaging polar bears.

4. Rudolph’s Big Night. Never call that red nosed reindeer, ‘Neon Nose’. Or he’ll start his payback right away. Just before Pete Davidson was Richard ‘Dick’ Hertz/Blackguard in “The Suicide Squad”, he took the role of Rudolph. In this skit, Rudolph does some taunting on the eight reindeer who make fun out of him first. And then gets one of them in big trouble. The highlight of this, is when Kris Kringle goes ‘OMG’ hilariously. Until he pulls out a shotgun to do what is necessarily than euthanasia. So be nice to Rudolph, will you?

3. Adam Sandler’s Hanukkah Song. This is where Sean Kearsley got the idea of doing the animated movie, ‘Eight Crazy Nights’ and featured this comedian/actor/singer in it. Adam Sandler, when he was a boy, only sang the ‘Dreidel’ song in school when he and many Jewish kids celebrate Hanukkah. So he did this new one, as it became a viral hit. By mentioning so many celebrities who are Jewish like him. After all, there are so many Christmas songs, and only a few Hanukkah songs. For what he did, is a zing for Hanukkah.

2. Christmas Pageant. Canadian actor Martin Short will make you laugh out loud in this skit. Partnered with British singer but former Beatles member Paul McCartney, they do an audition for a Christmas pageant. After Paul McCartney fails to do some chiming twice, Martin Short gets pissed & quits. This make him steal the whole show as he does one of his best Christmas songs. That ever made Paul McCartney famous. In fact, this song he did was featured in “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer: The Movie” in 1998.

1. The Night Hanukkah Harry Saved Christmas. Taking the number #1 spot on the list, thank American actor Jon Lovitz. For he happens to be Hanukkah Harry. When Kris Kringle was ill, he asked for Hanukkah Harry for help on delivering the toys. In doing so, not only he gave toys to the kids, but also Hanukkah gifts too. No matter if some kids were Jewish or not. And instead of using 8-9 reindeer, he used only three donkeys to fly and transport him. His theme song, it’s very catchy. Especially when he travels the world.

Do you agree with these picks? Which are your favourite SNL Christmas skits?

How to draw Mewsette (from “Gay Purr-ee”, 1962)

They may have shown u something like this in art drawing books. But when you’re going into Pre-Animation & Illustration at a local college, it’ll be the same thing like what you see here.

This example just so, happens to be the only animated feline to be portrayed by this Hollywood actress. Before she was 47 years old by barbiturate overdose on June 22nd, 1969. (A month before the Apollo 11 mission to the moon).

Judy Garland herself. As one of her final performances before her death. Thanks to Warner Bros. And yet, they haven’t mentioned this in the “Judy” movie with Renée Zellweger. On TV channel Turner Classic Movies whenever they show this on TV, they never even did an intro & outro of how Judy Garland was ever involved in this as her first and only animated feature film.

At local colleges whenever they have those animation programs, they should have these photos and mention Judy Garland in that “Gay Purr-ee” movie.

Judy Garland may have had a terrible dark secret, until her tragic death, but she had shown the world on what she was really made of. As how many people loved her very much. Especially when she was Dorthy Gale in “The Wizard of Oz”.
