Godzilla VS Kong (2021)

Note: I had no choice but to watch this online, when there was an 8 pm curfew, as well as another lockdown happening while facing the COVID-19/corona virus/China virus pandemic. I wanted to see it in theatres after Easter weekend of 2021, but movies playing at theatres wouldn’t last long enough. And besides, my parents at home didn’t feel like driving. They wanted to remain in their home, and they wanted die up in their home while rotting their minds out like Tom Hardy in “Capone”.

Throughout movie history, we looked at famous rivalry’s. “Alien VS Predator”, “Batman VS Superman”, “Cyborg 009 VS Devilman”, “Earth VS The Flying Saucers”, “Freddy VS Jason”, “Monsters VS Aliens”, and more, they have been historical. Now comes the biggest battle of all time, that we have all been waiting for. It’s the king of the monsters vs the eighth wonder of the world!

Since “Godzilla” in 2014, “Kong: Skull Island” in 2017, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” in 2019, we looked at a movie universe called MonsterVerse. In which since those old fashioned Godzilla movies came out from Japan, we looked at how kaiju’s can be ferocious. Such as Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, King Ghidorah, Megalon, Gigan, Hedorah, Megaguirus, Kong, and more.

In 1962, when “King Kong VS Godzilla” came out in the Far East, they had their first battle together as it was a withdraw. But they knew that they would have their battle again in future, and that is when it finally came in 2021.

So in this one, five years after Godzilla destroyed King Ghidorah in the events of “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” in 2019, and was hailed as king, the organization who are after them, Monarch has been keeping an eye on them, ever since they lost Dr. Ishirō Serizawa. However, they realized on two things.

One was that Dr. Ishirō Serizawa has a son, Ren Serizawa as he joined the company as a tech engineer. And two, with the natives on Skull Island all dead, only one remains alive. A little girl named Jia who is deaf and communicates Kong via sign language. She was then later adopted by a Monarch scientist. In addition, like John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt, they do communicate by sign language. However for that Asian-Native girl, for the way she wakes Kong up and is like Ann Darrow, who holds a strong bond for it, she will have a death wish if she was strangled by thin wires around her neck.

Later on in the movie, came the most shocking part. In order to fight monsters such as those Titans, Monarch created a monster of their own.

Mechagodzilla!!

That was why in the movie, while Godzilla was against Kong, he was mad against Apex Cybernetics that were trying to build Mechagodzilla, as how they had those skull-crawler eggs. He did a vengeful attack, but didn’t annihilated the facility. The humans however, found out the truth on where do the Titans come from. Since author Jules Verne wrote that famous story we know, the Titans such as Godzilla, Kong, Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah, those MUTO’s, Skull-crawlers, prehistoric mammoths and more come from the centre of the Earth! Their own entire world beneath our feet.

From the coast of Antarctica to the city of Hong Kong, they had their battles until Mechagodzilla malfunctioned. The A.I computer killed Ren Serizawa as it went on a rampage until both Godzilla and Kong destroyed it.

Reprising their roles are Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler who portray Dr. Russell and her daughter Madison from “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”. The only stars that I know of that joined in, are Shun Oguri as Ren Serizawa, Demián Bichir as the man who built Mechagodzilla, and Rebecca Hall as the Monarch scientist who adopted Jia. No one had seen or heard Rebecca Hall’s voice in a while. Last seen in 2018, when she was in the anime masterpiece, “Mirai”.

So for a success, 7.7 out of 10 stars is what I give. The only parts I didn’t like was that mute girl who loves Kong like Ann Darrow.

Winner of the entire fight, beneath and above the Earth? The king of the monsters himself. Always wins a fight. Always be king.

What about Kong? He found the right home for where he belongs than Skull Island. And as for that actress who portrays Jia, Kaylee Hottle? Pretty soon one day, she will get for what she f***ing deserves. A death wish.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Since “Kong: Skull Island” and “Godzilla” in the mid 2010’s foretold on how the Earth belonged to titans and kaiju’s, than the ones on Mt. Olympus in Greek mythology, there were 15 more of them including those two. Three of them in this movie on their colossal battle were against Godzilla, as five more caused mayhem on Earth. I don’t know what the other two were, but there was a prehistoric mammoth, one more flying predator that eats nuclear waste, and an odd spider like the one on Skull Island.

Places such as Boston, Massachusetts and Washington DC in the USA, annihilated. Mexico was torched as hot as hell, while the rest were nearly wiped out off the face of the Earth.

The ones fighting Godzilla were Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah. King Ghidorah was the three headed dragon kaiju that shoots lighting bolts from its mouths, at the same time. And whenever King Ghidorah loses a head, another one grows back. Not like the hydra dragon that grows two more after losing a head.

While the humans have learned about who they are, why they rule the Earth and so forth, Monarch, a scientific organization has been finding out the secrets behind them. Since these titans were once on this Earth in the prehistoric times, they’ve been worshipped as actual gods on the island of Atlantis by the humans. When they disappeared beneath the earth, that was when they believed it was a civilization too far when the oceans drank Atlantis.

Godzilla had almost died, but was glad to have the humans as allies. Since five years after the attack on San Francisco, they’ve built better technology on how they were fighting against Rodan and King Ghidorah mostly. Mothra was only evolving in a waterfall in China, before she could be complete.

Since Tom Hiddleson, John C. Reilly, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Jing Tian, Jason Mitchell, Shea Whigham, Thomas Mann, Miyavi, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Bryan Cranston had faced the wrath of those titans including some skull crawlers from the first two movies, Kyle Chandler, Ken Watanabe, Charles Dance, Sally Hawkins, Aisha Hinds, O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Ice Cube’s son), Eli Roth as a fighter pilot, and Millie Bobby Brown got into facing the battle of those titans. And it was so colossal, it nearly brought doomsday to this Earth. In fact, you should’ve seen Sally Hawkins squashed like a bug. That way, she can never be with her loving amphibian man from “The Shape of Water”.

The saddest part was when Dr. Ishirō Serizawa portrayed by Ken Watanabe made a sacrifice by reviving Godzilla. Since he was Katsumoto from “The Last Samurai” and General Tadamichi Kuribayashi from “Letters from Iwo Jima”, it made me shed a tear when he did. His last words were “Sayōnara…Kyūyū”. (Goodbye…old friend).

I can’t tell you on how Godzilla defeated King Ghidorah, and was hailed as king of the monsters, but I can tell you this. 8/10 stars is what I give, than that lousy “Rocketman” on Taron Egerton as Elton John. Too much gay parts with homosexual scenes. Worse as that Oliver Twist musical in 1968. However….

COMING SOON: March 24th, 2021, will be the climatic battle of all time. It’s the king of the monsters VS the eighth wonder of the world.

Godzilla lives!! (For Ken Watanabe as Dr. Ishirō Serizawa who revived him in battle)

As the eighth wonder of the world must die. And you have already known the name that will pay for what he did wrong.

“KONG!!!!!!!!”

Kong: Skull Island (2017)

Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and John C. Reilly were worse on their acting, in many movies that I dislike. But this is one, in which they have learned a lesson. From the producers who did the 2014 version of “Godzilla”, you do not want to be in a place, where monsters belong.

In 1973, when the Vietnam War was over, everyone in the U.S. were glad that troops were coming home. But when a crazy senior official found something, they were to investigate it. An uncharted island. So by having airborne troops, they started bombing the island and began researching everything. From seismology to everything, HE showed up.

King Kong. The 8th wonder of the world.

He killed the airborne helicopters in a single fight, as he was furious. He didn’t care. He just killed those U.S. Army Vietnam War soldiers by using trees and his fists. This made a Lt. Col. so furious, he was compared to Captain Ahab from “Moby Dick”. He wanted revenge on Kong for what he did to his men.

So by watching out for water buffaloes, hideous spiders, tree bugs, killer prehistoric birds, a giant squid, and killer skull crawlers, they also had to watch out for those natives that worship King Kong as a god, as well as the 100 ft ape himself. Along the way, they ran into a WWII American pilot who crash landed there, before they arrived.

As 100 men went on the island in their helicopters, only 10 made it out alive. Including the WWII American pilot who crash landed there. The rest who didn’t make it, were crushed, squashed, and killed by Kong. The skull crawlers usually, ate them alive, including that crazy senior official. What about that U.S. Army Lt. Col.? Like Ahab from “Moby Dick”, he tried to kill Kong but didn’t. Kong killed him, that I don’t think you don’t want to know.

‘B-‘ on this movie here. Pretty good. But you don’t want to go too close to the screen. Cause that can burn your eyes pretty bad.

Not only Kong is the only monster to roam the world. In a post-credits scene, some archive footage was shown. They have began to know, that Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah, are still alive.

And in order to fight monsters, it’s time you unleash the monsters of your own. Fighting robots since “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and “Pacific Rim”.

Godzilla (2014)

This version is better than the Matthew Broderick version! The old version is still good, but this one is way more often. With two actors I know, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Bryan Cranston, they take on the king if the monsters and two more creatures on whatever was happening from beneath the Earth.

Two more creatures are almost like kaiju’s. One can fly, and another can walk and lay eggs. They are 500ft high, and they only eat nuclear waste and chemicals. Godzilla’s the same thing, except than the American type version, he’s more of the Japan version like what we wanted for a long time.

In the beginning, the father played by Bryan did went out of his mind when there was something out there that killed his wife and the boys mother, until he died on a battleship. The boy did grew up as he joined one of the U.S. military’s. Wife, little boy, he was considering those facts to go back to very carefully.

I wouldn’t say any more since I don’t want to spoil, so maybe if you found that out for yourself, you would see like the version with Matthew Broderick.

For this movie, 8/10 stars, since the father did went out of his mind, and how it was awesome to see for what Godzilla did. You can find that out for yourself.
