Mao Kobayashi (1982-2017)

A few weeks after Mr. Pogo, a Japanese wrestler and Sonny Chiba’s wife went to heaven, so did she. She was 34 years of age when he died of breast cancer. Very bad for women to die.

However, what makes gives me a surprise is that she, her sister Maya Kobayashi and his husband have been in some interesting anime TV series.

From two live movies, eight TV shows in Japan, and one anime movie based on a manga series in 2007 called “Captain”, she once worked for Shonen Jump magazines. The same manga company that did ‘Naruto’. Her sister on the other hand, worked on only three anime movies. “Boys Over Flowers”, “Arashi no Yoru ni”, and “Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa”. Every anime fan loves “Fullmetal Alchemist”. Especially some students in college I look at.

But before she worked for Shonen Jump, she was a weather caster. An anchorwoman who watches on the weather. And very clever than any anchorman or anchorwoman can be. And in Japan, they are not obtuse than that Will Ferrell in both “Anchorman” movies.

In 2009, she met Japanese actor Takatoshi Horikoshi, and were married in 2010. Her husband in 2016, before her death, was in a two-part new years eve special of the anime TV series, ‘Detective Conan’. Or ‘Case Closed’ for short on the North American anime TV title.

In 2011 and 2013, they had two children. One daughter and one son. Reika and Kangen Horikoshi. On October 2014, that was when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was in stage four, for what was worse to come until her death on June 22nd, 2017.

I feel very sorry for her, and how she died. She was turning out to be a splendid actress anyway. Especially on what anime TV shows or anime movies she was gonna get into next in her life. However, I am proud on both sisters on the Kobayashi family tree. Both her and sister Maya.

R.I.P. Mao Kobayashi. Like Sonny Chiba’s wife, you’ve had a wonderful life as a beginner to becoming a Japanese anime actress.

Mobile Suit Gundam (original version)

In the early days of anime in Japan, this was like the original ‘Speed Racer’ TV show before this was in English in 2001.

Between Earth and space, colonizing on other worlds can be like for what happened in the ‘Halo’ universe. But in a matter of years into the future, it may happen. However if you’re at war, using robotic armour can be the answer to your problems.

In a war between the Earth Federation and a Zeon enemy, they were at war for months in this rebellion.

  img_1979 img_1978
Intergalactic pilots, mostly children, were the next in line to go to war against to what they fear the most.

One of them, using robotic armour, was to use that kind of weapon, and knowing on how to control it. For a moment throughout some of these 43 episodes, he would’ve been in court martialed.

Like what actor and Vietnam War veteran Dale Dye would try to warn us, whenever he is in those Vietnam War movies.

With the voice talents of Michael Lindsay, Kristie Marsden, Richard Ian Cox, and etc, they risked their lives to be in robotic armour, starships and fighter ships so that this Earth shall never be burnt to a cinder. How’s that to know ever since you saw those original ‘Planet of the Apes’ movies?

In its original anime for how artists did in the first generations, ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’, was only the beginning. So for a pass, 7 1/3 out of 10 stars.

Yoko Nogiwa (1936-2017)

This Japanese actress not only had a short career in TV and movies, but was married to someone very famous in Japan. In which her husband and her daughter worked for Quentin Tarantino on “Kill Bill: Volume 1”.

Sonny Chiba. For he was in those ‘Street Fighter’ movies, and was Hattori Hanzo in the ‘Kill Bill’ volumes. He was shown in Vol. 1, and was mentioned in Vol. 2. When they were trying to bring that ‘roaring rampage of revenge’ to a successful conclusion.

In her early life, she was born in 1936 in Toyoma, Japan. She grew up in Suginami, Tokyo from three years of age. And survived the final days of WWII in Japan. She had a normal life until she graduated from Rikkyo University.

In 1973, she was married to Sonny Chiba and co-starred with him in the TV series, ‘Key Hunter’. From two movies and two TV more TV shows, she and Chiba had a daughter together in 1975. Juri Manase. And they were amazing together for many years.

In 1994, she and Chiba were divorced. However in 2003 when director Quentin Tarantino came into Japan, and was inspired by Japanese culture, Chiba and her daughter were hired by him. That made a surprise to her.

Sonny Chiba was Hattori Hanzo, and Juri Manase was one of the Crazy 88 members who got killed by the bride. Played by Uma Thurman. That made a success, as well as “Kill Bill: Volume 2” later on.

On June 13th, 2017 years later, she died of old age I believe. Yoko wanted to have normal life, but I was glad that she was Sonny Chiba’s wife. And she must’ve been proud of Sonny Chiba, for what occurred in 2003. And her daughter too. Quentin Tarantino’s roaring rampage of revenge saga in two volumes.

R.I.P. Yoko Nogiwa. You’ve had a wonderful life as an Japanese actress.

A tribute song to Philippe Petit

Remember Philippe Petit? The French acrobatic artist, who did the high wire walk between the two towers of the World Trade Center in 1974?

In a tribute to him, his performance in 1974, and those two movies that they did on him, I did this song I created for Philippe Petit. And this is should be one day, be more memorable than anyone else’s song in this world.

Look at a man in the sky that’s so high
A tightrope walker of wonder,
Between the two towers, he’s waiting for you
Philippe Petit. Who shall make you dreams come true.

Just look at him go on the walk to the clouds
Where all is quiet, and not loud
On that high wire, he’s waiting for you.
Philippe Petit. Who shall make you dreams come true.

The people, are watching from below
To a man, who really believes
Philippe Petit
An acrobatic where his dream came true

Go to the top, that leads to him,
Over the floors and see the city,
Look at him in the skies with stars in his eyes
Philippe Petit. Who shall makes your dreams come true

The people are watching from below
To a man, who really believes
Philippe Petit.
An acrobatic where his dream, came true.

Phillips Petit. An acrobatic where his dream came true

Warning: This maybe similar to the island song in the original TV series of Thomas the Tank Engine. However, I was inspired by that song, as I thought of doing one better than that. Something that Philippe Petit will love and appreciate on.

For Philippe Petit, I just hope he accepts this tribute song I made for him.

The Great Wall (2017)

There is a reason on why the Great Wall of China was built, as it became one of the 7 wonders of the world. Cause this took 1700 years to build, and it is 5500 miles long.

Matt Damon, and Willem Dafoe are the only two stars I know in this movie. During the Song Dynasty in Ancient China, two European mercenaries were looking for gunpowder, but was taken in by many armies of China to be at the Great Wall. On the other side, is a horde of Tao Tei. Green monsters with razor teeth like a drill in their mouths, as they feast on humans, dead or alive. There have been mostly warriors as well as bodyguards, that are muscular and powerful than rhinos that protect the one who controls the herd. A Tao Tei Queen. And like a flood, they wash away every human before them. They in fact, invaded Peking and almost killed the emperor in less than 55 days.

They can be so deadly, they would rip you to pieces in just 2 seconds. And feed their queen with your flesh and guts. However, they can be knocked out by a magnetic rock that the mercenaries found. Both magnet rocks and gunpowder were the most powerful things that they found during the Song Dynasty. For they were used together to wipe out the Tao Tei, and especially killing their queen.

The Tao Tei were never seen again when the war was over, from that moment on. And for centuries, China made statues of them, on what they once look like.

So for other movies on what they told on the Great Wall of China, forget all that. Especially “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”. The Song Dynasty was all on war against these monsters. But in the late Quing Dynasty, all at peace.

For a success, 8 1/2 out of 10 stars.

Eurythmics- Would I Lie To You?

This happened in the Jim Carrey movie trailer of “Liar Liar”. Really good, as this was sung by the Eurthymics. The same band that did ‘Sweet Dreams Are Made of This’, ‘Winter Wonderland’ at Christmas, and ‘Sex Crime (1984)’ from the movie based on the novel by George Orwell.

Not only this occurred in that movie trailer, but was played in a Warner Bros. movie that suits their animation very well. Live action also mostly. “One Crazy Summer” with John Cusack.

Whenever I listen to this song, no one would ever lie to anybody. Or end up like how Jim Carrey did. Cause for what happened to him, made me think he is possessed by the devil. And you would need an exorcist like Leslie Jones to give him lots of holy water, and slapping himself hard in the face by saying these words…

“The power of Leslie compels you!”

Cast Away (2000)

Tom Hanks was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 73rd Academy Awards, in this movie from director Robert Zemeckis. But he did won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor-Motion Picture-Drama in the 2001 Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

FedEx. The biggest mailing company in the world, as a time management engineer had to be in countries, for several FedEx locations. By making sure that packages arrive on time. But during Christmas holiday of 1995, he was unexpectedly called in for a situation to fix in Malaysia. He had to leave. Unfortunately, his FedEx mailing cargo plane lost control in a violent storm in the South Pacific Ocean, and was crashed down at sea.

All the crew were dead, except for the engineer. He was the only survivor. Washed up an uncharted island, miles from civilization, with no sign of rescue. He got injured a bit, trying to escape, and how he need to make a fire. But came to no avail. And from the moment that he had to knock out an aching tooth out of his gums, he became isolated on that island for four years long.

Four years had passed, as he changed differently. However, he was able to make it back home, to Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Everyone were glad he returned. Some of his family and friends thought that he was long dead at sea. His fiancé too, who got married with someone else. And with this movie, this had inspired every single TV & movie creator on Earth. To do some parodies or spoofs of this survival movie, with less dialogue.

Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt were the only two stars in this movie, that I only know. However for Helen Hunt, she was a better girlfriend to Bill Paxton for how the way they did in the movie, “Twister”. On chasing tornadoes, and looking at the dark side of nature. I sometimes do feel very sorry for her in some time. For what happened to Bill Paxton, when he died of heart surgery in 2016. But ever since Phillip Seymour Hoffman was in “Twister”, “The Hunger Games” movies and his death in 2014, I’m sure he and Bill Paxton are together in heaven now ever since they met in that 1996 tornado movie. But like Helen Hunt, I sure am gonna miss those two actors.

With herself and Tom Hanks in that emotional survival movie, 8/10 stars is what I give.

And for what happened in cartoons and animated movies related to this here, I won’t let Seth McFarlane and Matt Groening do more shit related to this famous film. “Lord of the Flies”? Both the book and those movie adaptions? They sure can. No blood, violence and killing really.
