Napping Princess (2017 anime masterpiece)

Note: This story took three days before the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan were about to begin. I’ve been looking for this for a while. When the COVID-19 pandemic began throughout the entire Earth in early 2020, the games were postponed to the summer 2021. So I finally had a second chance and enough time to see this.

I had to watch this online on the internet. Just before the 2020 Summer Olympics began, there were secrets behind a teenage girl and his father as a mechanic on building auto driven vehicles, including a newly improved motorbike. The girl’s mom worked for a car company in Tokyo until she got into a car accident, when the girl was a baby.

As a teenager, she’s a schoolgirl at daytime. Getting ready for her summer break.

At nighttime or sometimes at day on her catnaps, she dreams like if she is a damsel for adventure in a fantastical realm. The big trouble started was when a tyrannical lunatic was after their ideas and secrets, as well as taking over the car company after he made a false arrest on the girls father.

The girl with the help of someone joining her (which is not a boyfriend), had to explain the truth, prove that her father is innocent, and head to Tokyo to stop this mayhem before the Olympics would start.

Therefore she did, just in time. The auto drive cars that they built in the end, were then used for the olympians at the closing ceremony at the summer Olympic Games. The father was innocent, as the girl was glad to have him back. The tyrannical lunatic that I didn’t liked, was really a bad one. If I was very pissed at him, for laying a finger on that innocent schoolgirl, I’d break his nose and two hands with my feet. All the way until I completely hear his bones shatter.

Dramatic, suspenseful, but amazing and superb in anime, it’s definitely a pass. 9/10 stars is what I give. An ‘A-‘.

With the voice talents of Brina Palencia who played Miss Lockser from “Fairy Tail”, Doug Erholtz who played T.K from “Digimon: Digital Monsters”, Wayne Grayson who played Joey Wheeler from “Yu-Gi-Oh”, Mike Pollack who played Dr. Eggman from “Sonic X”, and also from “Digimon: Digital Monsters” in this, which is my favourite, Colleen O’Shaugnessey. And I sure hope she will reprise her role as Tails again, in a major movie role this time. In the new “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie sequel with Ben Schwartz as Sonic, James Marsden as Sheriff Tom Wachowski, and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman. BIG TIME. Won’t be released until April 8th, 2022.

In the meantime, now that we have come to the big event that the world will be watching including me, for all of you Olympic fans….

Gemū o hajimeyou!! (LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!)

[movie reviews will resume, after August 8th, 2021]

100 years since this famous party….(from “The Shining”)

This is what happens when you get spirited away by the people at the Overlook Hotel, deep in the snowy mountains outside, Denver, Colorado, USA. It occurred to Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance in “The Shining” after he froze to death. Now he remains with those ghost people since that ball on July 4th, 1921. (100 years ago as of 2021 which is cool). Including his two friends which are Lloyd the Bartender and Delbert Grady as the butler.

Gettysburg (1993)

Film critic Roger Ebert gave this a thumbs up and 3 out of 4 stars, as he wrote…

This is a film that Civil War buffs will find indispensable, even if others might find it interminable”.

Ebert said that despite his initial indifference, he left the film with a new understanding of the Civil War, and that he felt Jeff Daniels deserved an Oscar nomination for his performance. His friend Gene Siskel gave it a thumbs down however and said that this movie is “bloated Southern propaganda”. He however, also praised Daniels’ performance and recommended his nomination for an Oscar.

Joining Jeff Daniels as Colonel Joshua Chamberlain in this, are Martin Sheen as General Robert E. Lee, Tom Berenger as Lieutenant General James Longstreet, Stephen Lang as Major General George Pickett, George Lazenby as Major General J. Johnson Pettigrew, Sam Elliot as Brigadier General John Buford, and C. Thomas Howell as Lieutenant Thomas Chamberlain.

From Wednesday, July 1st, 1863 to Friday, July 3rd, 1863 was when the Battle of Gettysburg take place during the American Civil War. Two years before it entirely had ended in early April of 1865. Longest battle as it went for three days. And after that battle came to an end, as the Union army declared a victory, U.S. President Abraham Lincoln who was alive and well, before he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, did his speech address in Gettysburg:

“Fourscore and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new liberty conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation, so conceived so dedicated, can no longer endure. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here, have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us, that from these honoured dead, we take increase devotion to the cause, for which they gave the last full measure of devotion… that we here highly resolved that these dead shall not have died in vain; and that this nation under God, shall have a new birth of freedom. And that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the Earth”.

-U.S. President Abraham Lincoln at the Gettysburg Address.

They have mentioned Stonewall Jackson, but unfortunately was killed at age 39 on May 10th, 1863. Nearly two months before that battle began. And they didn’t mention General George Armstrong Custer, unfortunately. While there was mostly the Confederate army and the Union army, they showed only one escaped slave being aided with medical assistance by the Union army, and only one British soldier helping the Confederate army which was a surprise.

So for a success, 9.3/10 stars is what I give. Very long movie like the Synder cut version of “Justice League” in 2021 since 2017. But this is worth it. In addition, this can be a good one to watch over Independence Day. Same thing to both “Independence Day” movies & “Yankee Doodle Dandy”. “Born on the Fourth of July” about a guy named Ron Kovic who wanted to became a Vietnam War veteran and be handicapped? Too dramatic and too violent, so that won’t be necessary. Besides, he has a ridiculous moustache as well as that long hair he had.

Tune in next time for my next movie review, “Napping Princess”. It’s an anime adventure, that takes place three days before the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan can begin. Arrives on July 20th, 2021 at 7:15 am. And tune in tomorrow about something special….
