Ocean Waves (a 1993 Studio Ghibli movie)

They had this premiered on TV, only in Japan in 1993, thanks to Studio Ghibli and the director, Tomomi Mochizuki.

Based on the 1990 novel by Saeko Himoru, they didn’t brought this to North America until December, 2016 by GKIDS. GKIDS had tried to find a US cast for this movie, but they didn’t before they released this, in the spring of 2017. So this became the very first Studio Ghibli that I ever watched in Japanese. English subbed. I really didn’t mind watching this in Japanese. I was more focused on how a relationship can really mean.

Rikako Muto, a new transfer girl student became a kind friend to two teenage boys. Taku Morisaki and Yutaka Matsuno. Taku began to be a friend with Rikako, and had a small trip from Kyoto to Tokyo, in Japan. Although, there were problems to be solved on, but it took time for Taku to know on how he felt on Rikako. Cause in the end, at that train station, Taku finally met her once more, and decided to stay together no matter what happens in life.

So I’m gonna give this 10/10 stars. Very successful. And when you get ready for Japan, here’s a movie to get ready on.
