Gene Wilder (1933-2016)

From being a friend to Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor, to acting as Willy Wonka, Gene Wilder shall be remembered forever.

In his movies such as “Blazing Saddles”, “Young Frankenstein”, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”, “Silver Streak”, “The Producers”, “Stir Crazy” and the rest, he was brilliant. So funny and brilliant, he made the kids in the audience piss their pants hard. My dad was one of them.

After so much of his film career, he retired in the 1990’s. And for around 20 years, he needed peace and quiet. As an old man, he sure needed it. However, he was sad to see Richard Pryor pass away in 2005.

11 years later, so did he in 2016. He died on August 29th, due to Alzheimer’s disease. He was 83 years of age on that day.

Mel Brooks as an old man may miss him very much, but I am sure he is reunited with his friends again. The legends he met in his movies. Richard Pryor, Slim Pickens, Harvey Korman, Jack Albertson, Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Cleavon Little, Dom DeLuise, Kenneth Mars, and Madeline Kahn.

He was the very best actor as Willy Wonka.
