The Cat Returns

In 2005, this was my first Studio Ghibli movie that I ever saw thanks to Hayao Miyazaki. “The Cat Returns” after hearing more about anime movies coming to DVD, thanks to the TV commercial trailers such as “My Neighbor Totoro”, this one, and “Inuyasha 3: The Movie: Swords of an Honorable Ruler”. At the time when Blockbuster Canada was alive.

After a young schoolgirl named Haru, saved a noble cat that was a prince, she was invited to the Kingdom of Cats as she needed help. That was when she followed Muta, as she met the Baron and a talking crow named Toto. In the mythical land of the Kingdom of Cats, she was dressed up like a pure masquerade beauty as she was transformed into a cat!

With the help of Yuki, a white girl cat, they brought her home to become a human again. And she did. She was entirely happy after that, as she knew Yuki when she fed her as a little girl. And thanks to those three, she may have a crush on Baron, as she can always visit him at day or night. This was all about trusting yourself.

The voices in this were Anne Hathaway as Haru, Cary Elwes as The Baron, Peter Boyle as Muta, Elliot Gould as Toto, Kristine Sutherland as Haru’s mother, Kristen Bell as Haru’s best friend, Tim Curry as the Cat King, and finally, Judy Greer and Andrew Bevis as the Yuki and the Cat Prince.

My brothers Hayden and Wyatt do love this movie, as long they shall remember. And so do I. Because me and my bros, are special anime fans.
