Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

This was the very first Studio Ghibli movie, that had ever reached movie theaters in 1984 by Hayao Miyazaki, as it was in English in 2005. I saw this on DVD in 2005.

Years after a global warfare, bugs were mutated and became toxic and so did the jungles. Only a place known as the Valley of the Wind was capable on keeping themselves clean and away from them.

A girl named Nausicaa, wanted to be a protector of the valley. When a military took things over, they did not know what they were doing, when the leader was taking captive of a giant bug heart. With a quest to save people, get back and protect the Valley of the Wind, she met up with a boy who was a soldier. He wanted revenge on the military as he took out 7 gigantic cargo planes. Almost like if he’s Maverick from “Top Gun”.

With a chance on saving people, they took the chance on getting back to the Valley of the Wind.

By the time she was getting hurt, she was like gonna get killed. But with the help of some beasts, they saved her. She flew in the air with her furry little fox squirrel as she was alive in one piece, and not afraid.

Nausicaa was voiced by Alison Lohman as there was Shia LaBeouf as her friend, Patrick Stewart voices as a wise lord, a mayor voiced by Mark Hamill, a one armed queen voiced by Uma Thurman, and featuring the voices of Jodi Benson, Jeff Bennett, and a cast of others.

In fact, Nausicaa was the same name of a love to Odysseus. I like that name. Even for that character in Miyazaki’s masterpiece. 10/10 stars on this!!
